At coffee break in the office, Áine invites Peadar to go to a play in the Town Hall Theatre.
| Áine: | A Pheadair, an mbeidh tú saor oíche Dé hAoine? Peadar, will you be free on Friday night? |
| Peadar: | Beidh, sílim. Cén fáth? I will, I think. Why? |
| Áine: | Tá mé féin agus Deirdre ag dul chuig an dráma nua sin in Amharclann na Cathrach. Ar mhaith leat teacht linn? Gheobhaidh mise ticéad duit amárach. Myself and Deirdre are going to that new play in the Town Hall Theatre. Would you like to come with us? I’ll get a ticket for you tomorrow. |
| Peadar: | Ba bhreá liom. Cén t-am a bheidh sé ag tosú? I’d love to. What time will it be starting? |
| Áine: | Ar a hocht a chlog. At eight o’clock. |
| Peadar: | Go breá. Rachaidh mé! Cén áit a mbuailfidh mé libh? Fine. I’ll go! Where will I meet you? |
| Áine: | An bhfuil a fhios agat an teach tábhairne sin díreach in aice leis an amharclann? Do you know that pub right beside the theatre? |
| Peadar: | Tá a fhios. I do. |
| Áine: | Buailfimid leat ansin ar leathuair tar éis a seacht. Ceart go leor? We’ll meet you there at half past seven. Okay? |
| Peadar: | Go breá! Tá mé ag súil go mór leis. B’fhearr domsa rith – tá cruinniú agam. Fine! I’m really looking forward to it. I’d better run – I have a meeting. |
