Look at the rules below and then try placing the correct preposition before the name of each country.
Saying you were in a country
When you talk about being in a country, you use sa (or san before a vowel) in the case of countries containing the article an (the):
An Fhrainc (France) sa Fhrainc (in France) An Iodáil (Italy) san Iodáil (in Italy)
If the name of the country is not preceded by the article, you use i (or in before a vowel):
Sasana (England) i Sasana (in England) Albain (Scotland) in Albain (in Scotland)
